Screen printing

Screen printingScreen printing is the all-rounder among the printing processes. It is a professional, extremely durable industry standard. Also multi-colored motifs, gradients, effect colors, such as neon, gold or silver and photorealistic prints are possible. Due to the color imprint directly onto the textile without transfer material, such as during digital transfer , the print is so thin that you hardly notice it, a slightly rubberized surface is palpable. Almost all textiles can be printed. For large print runs screen printing is the cheapest and best printing process.

In screen printing, the ink is transferred directly to the textile via a sieve. The color layer is thus applied to the textile. It is then dried in a drying tunnel. For dark textiles, you must pre-print with white to get good coverage and bright colors. A great advantage is the high wash resistance in screen printing and the almost unlimited choice of colors with excellent color brilliance.

Screen printing is a stencil printing process. In contrast to conventional stencils (eg made of paper), this printing technique can also depict very detailed freestanding graphics. This is possible with the help of the screen, which presses the squeegee paint during the printing process. Today you can find the screen printing in a big way, especially in textile printing. Textiles can be printed manually or automatically in short or long runs. Here textiles are printed with a screen printing carousel or a large screen printing machine. The screen printing process can be used for printing on very different materials. The art area is mostly printed on paper, cardboard and canvas.

With the help of the screen printing technique can also be printed by beginners on a variety of materials. The easiest way is to print on flat surfaces. This can be textiles (T-shirts, bags, shirts and other fabrics), paper sheets, posters, boxes, metal, glass, stone, ceramics, even printed circuit boards (electronics). It is important to determine the right color and the right sieve for the respective application.
